Welcome to developing and implementing an effective promotion program to bring about positive change through your water, sanitation, and/or hygiene program.

CONGRATULATIONS ON TAKING THESE STEPS! Your agency or organization and your customers and clients will thank you!

**We know that we cannot do this work alone and that we need assistance to be sure that the design, development, and implementation of the desired promotion program is of high quality to achieve measurable results. We need a well-rounded team and a good team leader.**

ACTIVITY 1: CHOOSE APPROPRIATE TEAM MEMBERS

Use Decision Making Tool 1: Selecting Team Members to detail out possible team members.

It is more efficient to have an odd number of team members (7, 9, 11, 13) and a team size that does not exceed 13 to facilitate decision making, consensus, and avoid ties.

** We now know possible team members to invite to be on the team to design, develop and implement the promotion program. We will invite up to 13 persons to join in this effort, and then move onto the next activity. **

ACTIVITY 2: SELECT/ASSIGN A TEAM LEADER

**We now have a full team comprising the skills we need to design, develop and implement our promotion program. Good leadership is essential to the efficient running of this team and we need to have a team leader.**

IF A TEAM LEADER HAS BEEN ASSIGNED, go onto Activity 3. If not, continue here.

Use Decision Making Tool 2: Selecting a Team Leader to identify an appropriate team leader.

ACTIVITY 3: ESTABLISH TEAM ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

**Now that we have our team and our team leader, we want to ensure that we each have a clear role and can fulfill our responsibilities to get the job done well.**

Use Decision Making Tool 3: Assigning Team Roles to assign each team member a team role.

Team Formed? Then let's get started with the 10 steps!
